Love is to be celebrated every day

Hello February!
As I was going through my emails this morning, I came across a few that got my attention and all of them had love in the subject line then I realized that today is the first of February and we are officially celebrating love, all things heart, chocolate and roses, though I think love should be celebrated every day but it’s fun to see how much efforts people put into it just for a short period of time.
So in the spirit of love, let’s not wait for a specific month and day out of the year to show and express love. You are here now, do it now by your actions, show love in the small things that you do. You never know, that might be all they needed to hear in this moment, right now.
Celebrate love today and every day.

Happy February everyone and may it be your best month yet.
With love, roses, and extra chocolate.

Greetings to all,
I trust that the first month of 2016 has been good to you. Just wanted to wish you all a great weekend, even though some of us have to work over the weekend but we still can make the best of it by taking some time to spend with family and friends and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

2016 A Year to Say No

As the New Year begins, I am embarking on a new journey towards my goals. Therefore, I am pressed to make some necessary changes in my life not only to avoid the same mistakes that I made the past years but also to provide myself better opportunities of succeeding in every aspect of my life. One of the things that I realized over the years, the more Yes to some distractions in whether they are people or things, the more prone I was to fail to achieve my goals, so in 2016 I will learn to say NO

1. NO to negativity: negativity is a poison, once you let it get into your mind, it will affect every corner of it and leave you petty, jealous, envious and ungrateful.

2. NO to procrastination: procrastination is the enemy of productivity, the more you delay in taking care of important things in life, the less likely you are to achieve your goals.

3. NO to drama makers: sometimes you just have to distance yourself from drama and the people who are creating it, be around such environment is infectious.

4. NO to unfruitful relationships: It’s unlikely that you’ll have a good relationship with everyone that crosses your path whether it’s in your personal life or professional life but it’s okay. However, you have to be wise to know when to let go of a relationship that is unfruitful.

5. NO to parasites: Some people in your life are only there to take from you, they can drain you out and leave you exhausted. Therefore keeping them around is just slowing you down and wearing you out.

By learning to say NO to these distractions, I’ll be able to focus on the things that matter, the things that inspire me, and help me grow and I wish you’d do the same.

Life changing lessons 2015 taught me

Life changing lessons 2015 taught me
As we are saying goodbye to another year, I wanted to take a moment to thank God for an incredible year and share with you some of the life changing lessons that 2015 has taught me. There is no doubt it was a year filled with blessings, laughter, joy, love, also challenges, sad times and chaotic moments but in the midst of it all, God was there to protect, comfort and bless my family, my friends and I and for that I am thankful.

From my many life changing lessons that the year has taught me, I am sharing 17 with you and pray that they will be useful to you in the coming year.

1.  Always put God first in everything you are doing, even what you take to be insignificant, because He wants to be part of all your whereabouts.

2. Understand that without God you are NOTHING

3. Never throw away old friends for new ones

4. Never stop loving, forgiving, and appreciating the people in your life.

5. Allow yourself to experience firsthand the joy of giving by being as generous as you can be

6. Cut out all negativities in your life one by one

7. Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and let God take control

8. Love, value and respect yourself enough to walk away from people who are keeping you from growing spiritually, and mentally

9. Appreciate the small pleasures of life

10. Always make time for yourself

11. Smile even when it hurts the most

12. Embrace your uniqueness,

13. Use your past as a learning guide

14. Taking responsibility for your actions shows a lot about your character

15. It can’t always be about you.

16. Don’t take it personal.

17. Take life one day at a time and always make the best of it

I wish you a happy, healthy, joyful and prosperous New Year 2016.

My heart is breaking for my fellow Haitians in DR

Haitians are humans too

Haitians are humans too

My heart is breaking to see how my fellow Haitians are suffering, being mistreated, and looked down on in the DR and some other places. They are being treated like unwanted animals, all in pursuit of a better life for themselves and their children. I have seen some very disturbing pictures and videos of how they are torturing, killing, and throwing Haitians on the side of the roads to be eaten by dogs with no regards for their human rights. No one deserves to be treated in such ways, not only it’s cruel but it’s inhuman.
We all were created by the same God; we have the same blood running down our veins. Why can’t we be one and peacefully cohabit? We are not taking anything away from the natives; we are working hard to earn a decent living for ourselves and our family, we are not disturbing anyone so why can’t we get a fair chance?

Even though we come from one of the poorest countries in the world but we are human beings, with feelings, emotions, we bleed red as everyone else and when we die, we all turn into skeletons like everyone else; so why outcast us as world class villains?

Now is the time for us Haitians everywhere to come together to put an end to our sufferings, to our humiliations and our degradation by loving each other, standing up for each other and proudly hold the Haitian flag in front of everybody. No matter how welcome they make us feel because of our level of education, our social status, or wealth in a foreign country, bear in mind that this is not our home, we are just passengers looking for something better.

It’s time to put hate, envy, greed, and negativity aside and work together to show the world who we are as Haitians, what we are capable of, and what we can accomplish. It’s time to stand united against prejudice and cruelty. It’s time to embrace each other, be loyal to each other and celebrate each other for being who we are. We are strong, intelligent, resourceful and beautiful people, let’s show the world.
